'Protect Together' from COVID -19
The coronavirus is very contagious and can spread rapidly through populations and quickly overwhelm their health systems. As of early July, over 520,000 deaths can be directly attributed to COVID-19 worldwide – and millions more have suffered from economic hardship through loss of income.
The number of confirmed cases in Myanmar are relatively small in comparison, but the risks remain very real – and we therefore all have a role to play to protect our country.
Funded by USAID and working under the Breakthrough Action Initiative, Save the Children has launched the ‘Protect Together Campaign’, with support from the Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS). The campaign encourages Myanmar people to make a commitment to help keep each other safe by following advice set out by Government and global authorities such as the World Health Organisation.
Myanmar is a very generous country – and the only way we can all get through the problems caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, is to work together and learn the practices that will prevent the spread of infection. We are stronger, together.
By following the "Protect Together Campaign” on Save the Children Myanmar’s Facebook page, people will receive important advice that, if followed, will keep you, your family and the community safe.
