Consultant (Report - Writer)

Purpose of Consultancy:

The MEC Annual Report is an important document in demonstrating the key achievements of MEC and its partners over the operating period. It will highlight demonstrable results and how these have impacted under-served communities. Special emphasis will need to be placed on MEC’s added value, contribution to the success of program activities and our work with partners.

 

MEC is seeking a consultant to produce a public-ready Annual Report, utilizing a 50-page internal report, to create a product that conveys key messages on MEC impact. The consultant will conduct in-depth high-quality writing, with a commitment to a tight deadline and in collaboration with the MEL team.

 

Under the supervision and overall guidance of the Director of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, the consultant will perform the following tasks:

 

  1. Edit down a 50-page text and include charts and graphs for the Annual Report as per a one-week editorial and production schedule. The report is to be ready by the 16th September COB.

Develop charts and graphs as required, and develop all graphics to creatively convey messages/data in the report

Timing:

The consultant will work for 5.5 working days between 6th and the 16th September 2019. Fees will be paid after submission of final product. The consultant may conduct the assignment remotely.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Significant experience in Public Relations, English Language or Literature, Communications, Journalism or Creative Writing.
  • Excellent writing skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in producing corporate products desirable.
  • Understanding of education, education in Myanmar and/or ethnic education.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to changes as part of the review and feedback process.

Strong interpersonal skills.
